Crew played Carrie Miller, a CTV actor, from the year 2006 until 2008 for which she won her very first Leo. In 2006 she made her feature debut film appearance in the film of supernatural horror Final Destination 3, the third installment of the Final Destination film series and the fourth chronologically. The role she played was Julie Christensen as the younger sibling of Wendy who was the main character in the film. Crew initially auditioned for Erin Ulmer, while Alexz auditioned for Julie. But they swapped roles shortly before the shooting began. Although the critics gave the film mixed reviews, the movie did not stop it from being a major commercial hit. The movie earned $117 million at the global box office. It also featured her as a high schooler in the romantic comedy John Tucker Must Die, that was not well-received.
